During a firewall scan, you might receive a warning that says “Excessive unidentified ports were detected." This means that Halo Security has found more than 10 open ports that include more than 5 unidentified ports. For these targets, all unidentified ports will be excluded from all reports. Please note that ports 80 and 443 will always be considered identified.

This alert is generally caused by a Web Application Firewall (WAF). In order to achieve a conclusive assessment of the remote host, the device(s) responsible for interfering with this scan may need to be configured to permit scanning without interference by adding our scanner IPs to your AllowList.
